Daniel Phung
Daniel is a British East, South East Asian (ESEA) Actor, Dancer and Photographer graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University and the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, finishing his training in 2015. Since then Daniel has worked as performer, choreographer, movement director, and teacher, performance credits include; Kate Prince Company, Company Chameleon, Becky Namgauds, Avant Garde Dance, Wayward Thread, NUA Dance to name a few.
As a British ESEA artist, Daniel questions his own identity as an Asian male born and living in Western Society, conveying topics through the disciplines of Hip-Hop and Contemporary Dance, Meisner Technique, Theatre and Photography. Company Nil’s work focuses on creating socio-political work that is relevant to our current social climate. Previous works include topics on; Freedom, Cultural Masculinity and identity through the works, ‘At Arm’s Length’ (short film), ‘ROOM’ in collaboration with Kayleigh Price (short film), ‘Blowin’ In The Wind’ (full-length dance theatre production).
